Collect sample immediately prior to dose. Time to Steady State 1. Initiation of therapy : after 3 weeks. 2. Change in dose : after 2 to 6 days. Carbamazepine induces its own metabolism. High levels observed on initiation of therapy prior to auto-induction of liver enzymes. Half-life is altered by other anti-epileptics. |
