This is a referred test and requires prior arrangement with laboratory. Analysis is currently preformed at Tallaght University Hospital (TUH), Tallaght, Dublin 24. Specimen must be sent to Biochemistry in SJH immediately on ice. Sample is required to be centifuged, separated and frozen within 1 hour of collection. Delay will result in falsely raised plasma result. Haemolysis may affect results. Plasma is frozen and transported to referral laboratory on ice. This tests need to be accompanied by a Blood Sciences Form, printable from the intranet under Hospital Forms/Laboratory Request Forms (bottom of page) Some external tests are only dispatched Monday – Wednesday and should be sent on the day of collection. |
