Notes |
Patients should be seated for 10 minutes prior to blood being taken. EDTA blood should be kept on ice until separation (within 1 hr. of phlebotomy) Plasma should be frozen immediately and remain frozen until analysis. Special requirements: Ideally the patient should avoid caffeine and nicotine for 24 hours prior to blood sampling. If 3-Methoxytyramine is required, it is suggested that blood be taken following an overnight fast.
