Notes	Useful for: The investigation of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Clinical Information: Rheumatoid Factors are antibodies directed against the Fc portion of the IgG antibody. Up to 75% of patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis have a Rheumatoid Factor (RF). As an approximate guide, higher levels of Rheumatoid Factor are more likely to be associated with more severe disease. Please Note: Levels of Rheumatoid Factor may increase with age, infection, malignancy, therapy with certain drugs, other autoimmune disorders and a range of inflammatory disorders. Where External Institutions cannot guarantee immediate delivery, samples must be centrifuged, separated and stored at 4^oC. Samples can then be transported, as soon as possible, to St. James's Hospital for processing.
