Notes	Useful for: Evaluating patients suspected of having Rheumatoid Arthritis. Diffrentiating Rheumatoid Arthritis from other Connective Tissue Diseases that also present with arthritis. Clinical Information: Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide (CCP) Antibodies are antibodies directed against citrullinated peptides and proteins such as keratin and filaggrin. A positive antibody result for Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide (CCP) is highly indicative of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Please Note: False positive results can occur in patients with other Connective Tissue diseases such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosis (SLE). Where External Institiutions cannot guarantee immediate delivery, samples must be centrifuged, separated and stored at 4^oC. Samples can then be transported, as soon as possible, to St. James's Hospital for processing.
