S. Haematobium adult worms are found in the venous plexus of the lower urinary tract and eggs are shed in urine. Notification must be given to Microbiology lab prior to collection Samples require to be transported to the Microbiology lab without delay to ensure transportation to COH and testing within an hour of sample collection. Testing is performed in COH. Immediate transportation to the laboratory required. |
