Please Note: Negative results do not rule out the diagnosis of disease. The specimen may have been drawn before detectable antigen was present. Limitations of the test: Weakly encapsulated strains can lead to false negative results. Trichosporon beigelii can cause false positive results. Patients with high levels (>40 ug/ml) of Human anti-mouse antibodies (HAMA) may cause false positives.
Specimen must be transported to the lab ASAP or else refrigerated if there is a delay |
