To detect C. trachomatis serovar L1-L3, the laboratory currently uses an in-house real-time PCR assay. Samples are only processed for LGV PCR if patient has a C. trachomatis infection. Please ensure to also send an Aptima swab for C. trachomatis and N. gonorrhoeae testing. Transport samples to the laboratory without delay. Sample should be refrigerated if not transported immediately. |
