Maldi-TOF identification is performed on all Isolates as confirmation of identification. The presence of contaminating bacteria (e.g. GNB, GPCs) greatly affects the turnaround times. Please ensure chocolate slopes are inoculated from a pure growth of N. gonorrhoeae. All chocolate agar slopes received undergo two passes before any confirmation test is performed. |
