Screening assays are designed to detect antibody to HCV (anti-HCV) with high sensitivity. Samples which are positive must be confirmed by either a hepatitis C antigen test (performed Monday-Friday) or by a second EIA (performed twice weekly). Send sample to the laboratory without delay. Sample should be refrigerated if not transported immediately Samples are analysed using the Abbott Alinity i Immunoanalyser
