Swab conjunctiva, and if using Dryswabs (fine tip peel pouch) break off swab into viral transport medium and recap bottle. Please contact ophthalmologist for advice on further sampling. For HSV, VZV & Adenovrius Refer to the relevant sections HSV PCR, VZV PCR and Adenovirus PCR section of the user manual as these tests are performed in St. James's Hospital Molecular Laboratory Send sample to the laboratory without delay.
