Investigation |
ACE is an enzyme which catalyses the conversion of Angiotensin I to Angiotensin II, and inactivates bradykinin. Its primary site of production is the lung endothelium. It is used in the evaluation and monitoring of patients with suspected sarcoidosis. Overall, it is not deemed to be sensitive or specific enough to be used as a diagnostic tool for sarcoidosis. |
