Notes |
Please send a block or two 2ml clear Sarstedt screw cap micro tubes, each containing 2 scrolls x 10µm thick. The tube should be labelled with the block number. A representative H&E stained slide and histopathology report must accompany the sample. The H&E slide will be retained by the CMD laboratory. For DNA variant calling, a minimum neoplastic cell content of 10% is required. Other tests such as gene fusion detection, require a higher concentration of tumour cells. Therefore, a neoplastic cell content of > 50% is recommended where possible. If the neoplastic cell count is estimated to be <20%, mark the appropriate area on the H&E slide for macrodissection, or provide scrolls derived from a macrodissected sample. Samples for molecular testing should arrive in the laboratory as soon as possible post collection.
