Notes |
Can be performed on FBC sample Purpose of Test: Morphological assessment of blood cells gives diagnostic information that cannot be obtained from the FBC parameters alone. Some cells cannot be differentiated by modern analyser technology and need blood film examination to be correctly identified. Important sample information such as cell clumping or agglutination, EDTA and storage effects and other artefactual changes can be identified by blood film examination and used for result interpretation. |
